     Funeral services will be Saturday October 3, 2015 at 1 PM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Elder John Lee Springer officiating. Place of rest will be in the Worley Furnace Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday October 3rd from 12 PM noon until time of service and he will be out for viewing Friday October 2nd after 1 PM.
     Mr. Daniel Elijah Springer, Sr., age 80 of Dickson died Tuesday September 29, 2015. A native of Dickson County, he was the son of the late Dan and Eugenia Horner Springer and was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Elijah Springer, Jr.; daughters, Lisa Yvonne Springer, Carloyn Demetrius Springer; brothers, Valentine Lester Springer, Sylvestor Van Springer; sisters, Wilma Jean Springer Overton, Laura Jean Springer. Daniel attended Hampton High School and was employed for 39 years at the local East Hills Restaurant as their short-order cook and dishwasher. He also worked at Tennessee Aluminum Castings Foundry for 17 years as a cast iron pourer. He was a member of the Worley Furnace Baptist Church.
     Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lettie L. Hogan Springer of Dickson; sons, Richard Springer, Anthony Springer (Serina), Timothy Springer (Annette) all of Dickson; daughters, Wilma Springer of Dickson, Sybil Kelley Nunnally (Maurice) of Dickson, Geneffer Frazier (Willie) of Knoxville; adopted son, Howard Buchannan of Dickson, adopted daughter, Akira Johnson of Dickson; brothers, Robert Springer (Ruby) of Detroit, MI, Raymond Springer of Nashville, John Lee Springer (Dora) of Antioch, Haywood Springer (Paulette) of Burns, Tommy Springer (Mary) of Clarksville; sisters, Mildred Pendergrass, Rosetta Patterson, Susie Abel and Callie Bell Griffin all of Nashville; 18 grandchildren, Shannon Springer, LaTonia Johnson Leqwenda Springer, Sydney Springer, Kalista Springer, James Springer, Terry Springer, Terriece Easley (Alan), Fabin Springer, MonTaeSpringer, Lequida Prayer, Deonna Kelley, Mauriece Kelley, Curtis Kelley, Shon Moss, Timothy Springer, Isaiah Springer, Shamar Springer, Dailyihah Harmon; 42 great grandchildren and 1 expected great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
