Betty Lynn (Dickson) Parchman, 63, of Dickson, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015.
Betty was born on March 23, 1952, in Dickson, the youngest of seven children, to William Francis Dickson and Ruby (Waynick) Dickson.
She thoroughly enjoyed watching, again and again, her favorite television shows, Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, and The Golden Girls. She was an extraordinarily talented cook, who could make a mean pot of macaroni and tomatoes. Her lemon pie was delicious too. Just ask her grandson, Parker. Her turkey and dressing was so good her daughters fought over who got to taste it first on holidays. The oldest sister always has the advantage.
She loved flowers. Planting them, smelling them, and especially receiving them.
Betty married the love of her life and best friend, Terry Parchman on January 1, 1971. Though he thinks the real love of her life is her dog, or her constant shadow, Oliver.
She was a very loving Mother, Nannie, and Sister whose love knew no end. She made Christmas time so special for her daughters because of her child-like heart. She enjoyed her presents just as much as her children and wanted to know what they were right away. She loved to tease us by saying, "I know something you don't know."
She had a very close bond with her sister, Johnnie. If soul mates exist, and you can have more than one, then Johnnie was one of the lucky few.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Ruby Dickson, sisters June Allsbrooks, Ann Weaver, Johnnie Turk and brothers, David Dickson and Larry Dickson.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Terry, her daughter Michelle Prieur (Matt) of Charlotte, grandson Parker Prieur of Charlotte, daughter Tara Murray (Daniel) of Rochester, Minnesota, sister, Norma Oliphant of Vanleer and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Taylor Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 4pm until 8pm and on Wednesday from 10am until the time of service. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11am at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Suddeath officiating. Place of rest will be in the Adams-Nesbitt Cemetery.

"There is no death. People die only when we forget them. If you can remember me, I will be with you always."
