   Homer Dougles Carr was born to George  & Pearlie Mai Williams Carr (deceased) of Dickson, TN, May 31, 1944.

   Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 10am until service time at 11am at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 2pm at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

   Doug united with Chestnut Grove Baptist Church of in Charlotte TN at a young age. Doug attended Newport School in Charlotte and was a 1963 graduate of the Hampton High School in Dickson, TN. Doug enlisted with the U.S. Airforce at 18 years old. Doug married Carolyn Taylor Carr of Waverly, TN and from this union leaving to cherish his memories, are two daughters Karen D. Carr (Lamont-deceased) Perkins and Renee A. Carr (John) of Waverly, TN & preceding him in death, a son Wendell “Wink” Carr, MN .

   Doug later  moved to IL. where he attended the Illinois Seminary of Ministry.  Doug loved farming, working on cars, and worked for the National Photography Studios of St. Charles, MO. Doug married Birdie Brody Carr (deceased) & of this union one son Lamon Carr (deceased) was born. Doug found love again and united in marriage to his friend and buddy for life, Minister Betty Jones Carr. Upon their return to Dickson as home, Doug and Betty both united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church . Doug was an employee of the Dickson Co. Public Works Department until death.

   Also, leaving to cherish his memory are daughters Deoma LaDawn Carr, Illinois,  Tamilla (Jesse) Wade, Lemont (Rochelle) Jones,  Comesha Jones, and son, Edgar (Tearra) Jones of IL. Siblings: Georgia C. James, Bellevue, TN., Channie C. Huddleston, Dickson, TN, Gloria (William) Wigfall Sr., Nashville, TN, Allen (Patricia) Carr Sr., Dickson, TN, Betty (Michael) Grigsby, Dickson, TN, Mary (Sam) Bromell III, Burns, TN, and Ralph Carr, Nashville TN . Twelve grandchildren & six great grandchildren.

   Cherished friends Aubrey “Buddy”  Polite, James Cook, Darnell Ramey… uncles, and a host of cousins and friends. If you had time for conversation, laughter, and many old stories, Doug had time for you.
