    Family and friends will gather at the graveside at Dickson County Memorial Gardens on Wednesday afternoon, October 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. for graveside funeral services. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 4th at Taylor Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  There will be no visitation on Wednesday prior to graveside services.
   Johnny, age 81, died October 2, 2016 at Tristar Horizon Medical Center after a short stay.
   Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Shrine Children's Hospital.
   Johnny was a lifelong resident of Dickson County, son of the late John Virgil McDonough, Jr. and Marie Elizabeth Boone (Booney) McDonough.   Johnny proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He and his wife, June, attended the Burns United Methodist Church.  He was retired administrative assistant with Third National Bank in Nashville with 25 years fo service.
    Johnny and June owned and operated one fo the first video stores in Dickson,  the former Video Vision.  It wasn't just a video store,it was a gathering place. One could not just pop in and out of there for a movie. You always had to stay and visit. It was a happening place.  He was a 50 year Mason, he was a Shriner, and a York Rite Mason.  Johnny had that contagious laugh and warming personality and could be as funny as funny could be.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the out of doors.  After retirement he and June sold popcorn at the Nashville Flea Market and loved being around all the shoppers there.  
    He is survived by his wife of 65 years, June Bradford McDonough of Burns, TN; his son, Steve McDonough and his daughter in law, Kimberly of Burns, TN; his three wonderful grandchildren, Linsey Phillips and her husband, Andy; Lacey Raburn and her husband, Warren; Brad McDonough and his wife, Courtney. his five great grandchildren, Jake, Audin, Thomas, Rebekah and Cora Leigh.
