   James Donald “Jim” Mathis – Age 83 of Dickson was born on November 1, 1933 and passed away on January 6, 2017 at Horizon Medical Center.

  Jim is preceded in death by his brother Willard “Ray” Mathis. He is survived by his children, Steven Brian Mathis and Angela Marie Mathis of Portland OR; sisters, Fay Stacey of Dickson and Betty McCullom of Gallatin, TN 

  Jim was a veteran of Army serving 22 years. He served in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. Following his military service, Jim was a patrolman with the City of Dickson and then with the City of Burns Police Departments.

  Jim’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, 2016 at 2pm at the graveside in Dickson’s Union Cemetery with Pastor Wes Sesler officiating and Military Honors from the United States Army.

  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Mr. Jim Mathis to the (DAV) Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike Cold Spring, KY 41076
