Stacy Bell Parchman, age 84, passed peacefully to be with the Lord on April 29, 2017. He was in the comfort of his own home with his wife Dorothy by his side. A warrior, who fought a courageous battle with chronic illness for over 20 years, had attained the final victory.

Born April 27, 1933 in Dickson County to the late James Preston Parchman and Effie Lee Street Parchman, he is preceded in death by his daughter Sherry Lynn Parchman Johnson; brothers, Virgil, William (Buck), Johnny (J.B.), Vester Ray (Jiggs), Ivy Neal (Moe) Parchman and sister Gertrude Parchman Choate.

Stacy served our country in the U.S. Army from 1953 - 1957 as a Corporal in the 8th Infantry.  Without much formal education, he had many talents.  He was a logger, farmer, electrician, a jack of all trades, and worked at Ford Glass Plant from 1958 until his retirement in 1993 after 35 years of dedicated service. When he wasn't working, he took much pleasure in farming, fishing, hunting and cooking. Known for his cornbread, soup & stews, fish frying and especially his infamous southern cornbread dressing. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at home, fishing, gardening, tending to his yard, and enjoying his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was a devout member of Sylvia Baptist Church and he loved the Lord.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy Sue Seals Parchman; his daughters Rachel Parchman Luster (son-in-law Jamey W. Luster) and Crystal D. Holloway (son-in-law Joseph Holloway) of Dickson, TN; granddaughters, Mary McCutchen, Jaycie Gabrielle Luster, and Anna Holloway; grandsons Dustin Allen Tidwell (granddaughter-in-law Sierra Tidwell), Devin James (D.J.) Tidwell, Joey Holloway and Ayden James Luster all of Dickson, TN; and great granddaughter Kay Elizabeth Goodstein of Dickson, TN,   in addition to several nieces and nephews and his fur baby Cocoa.

In lieu of a traditional memorial service, a celebration of life will be held at a later date and location TBD. Also in lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Stacy may be made to the American Lung Association.

He taught us all so much beyond measure and to us was a man truly larger than life, much loved and respected by his family and friends.  He was a wonderful man, husband, daddy, papa, poppy, pawpaw and friend. He will be immensely missed until we see him again in our eternal Heavenly home.
