Joyce Ann Brewster Ellis, age 59 of Cumberland Furnace, died on May 26, 2017.  Visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 2pm until 8pm, 10am-8pm on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am until the time of service.  A funeral service is scheduled for 2pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 with Bro. Dwayne Smith officiating.  Place of rest will be in the Rock Springs Cemetery. 

Mrs. Ellis was born November 1, 1957 in Nashville, TN.  She was a daughter of the late James “LD” Brewster and Elizabeth Walker Bain Traughber.  Joyce was known to some as “Red,” or “Sunshine,” her father simply called her “Jo.”  She had a strong character, faith in God, and always provided for her family.  Regardless of her role, as loving wife, proud and caring mother and grandmother, devoted sister, or friend, she was a role model for other members of the family. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Dean Bolton, Brenda Brewster, and Terry Bolton; brothers, Jimmy Wayne Brewster, Jeffrey Traughber, Timothy Wayne Traughber; son-in-law, Archie Morton Jr, brother-in law Bobby Dale Evans.

She is survived by her husband, James Darrin “Tator” Ellis; her children, Gizmo Reed of Cumberland Furnace, TN, Teresa Morton of Charlotte, TN, Joshua Cunningham (Contessa) of Charlotte, TN, Christopher Cunningham of Cumberland Furnace, TN, Tyler James Cunningham of Cumberland Furnace, TN, and Brittany Cheyenne Ellis of Cumberland Furnace, TN; her siblings, James “Bubba” Brewster (Norma), Lisa Brewster, Glynda Johnson (Lynn), James “Jamie” Brewster (Cheryl), Annie Marie Johnson, Charles Levi Traughber (Elizabeth), Roger Lee Traughber, Joseph Edward Traughber, Tammy Renee Traughber, Henry Eugene Traughber (Lisa), and Jimmy Dale Traughber (Tammy); grandchildren, Hailey Reed, CJ Morton-Allen, Chelsea Morton, Karen Michelle Morton, Kristina Ann Morton, Joshua Steven Morton, Alleigha Cunningham “Lou”, Jacob Cunningham “Bubba”; great grandchildren, Everlee Rose Allen, Camberlynn Allen, Nylah Morton, and Nasir Noble; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Barbara Ellis; several nieces and nephews.
