   Donald “Don” Lee Donegan - Age 74 of Dickson passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Horizon Medical Center.

  A Gathering of Family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 12-8pm at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Donny Hutcheson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Charlotte.

  Mr. Donegan is survived by his wife, Helen Travis Donegan whom he married in February 18, 1961; children, Teresa Newberry (Charles) of Dickson, Rhonda Ezell (Ben) of McEwen, Melinda Waynick (Mike)of Waverly and Derrick Donegan (Natalie) of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Travis, Kyle, Kara, Brandy, Keshea, LaDonya, Ben, Daylon, Devin, Chloe and Megan; grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Faye Mosley of Hendersonville, and Cora Mae Byer of Forrest City, NC

  He is preceded in death by his parents, William Boyd Donegan and Eunice Elizabeth Rye Donegan; granddaughters, Karie Newberry and Natasha Wall; and his faithful canine companion, Midnight.

  In his early career, Mr. Donegan was a Mechanical Supervisor with AVCO but his love, passion, hobby and full-time career was Dirt Track Racing. He raced and was a member of many different speedways. Along with his many wins and accolades, he was the point champion 14 times at Hohenwald Motor Sports Park and in 1999, was voted the FAN-tastic Driver of The Year at the Clarksville Speedway.

  He was a man that lived life to its fullest and never missed a moment. He enjoyed picking on his grandchildren, Bingo, Tunica and fishing for catfish.
