          A funeral service for Venus Juanita Robertson, age 81 of Dickson will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 from the New Hope Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation with the family will be at New Hope from noon until time of service.  Nephews will serve as pallbearers and nieces will serve as flower bearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacon Board of New Hope and honorary flower bearers will be the New Hope Mother Board.  An advanced viewing will be at Taylor Funeral Home on Friday, September 8th from 2 until 5 p.m.  Mrs. Robertson died September 2nd at Horizon Medical Center.

     Born in Dickson County, Mrs. Robertson was the daughter of the late Clarence Vanleer and the late Mollie Gerron Vanleer (Vaughn).  She retired as a machine operator for the former Red Kap Industries.  Mrs. Robertson was a devoted mother to her children and was honored to be on the Mother Board of her beloved New Hope Baptist Church.  She was predeceased by her husband, Waymon Clifford Robertson and by three sons, Lee Vanleer, Willard Robertson, and Brent Robertson.

     Survivors include a son, Darryl A. Robertson, Dickson; daughters, Regina L. Robertson and Trina L. Robertson, both of Dickson; step-daughter, Niva Edmondson, Cleveland, OH; step-son, Gary Harris, Dickson; grandchildren, Natasha Edmondson, Yvonne Kelly, Kanetra Robertson, Karen Muthra, Nadia Kelly, Stephon Palmer, Cydnee Robertson, and Darrion Robertson; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Louise Corlew and Linda Robertson; devoted cousins, Tishie Ramey and Fred Stone; very devoted friend, Sandra Kay Russ; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
