 A public memorial visitation with the family of Katie Ann Cavender Banks is planned for Sunday, February 4th from 3 until 7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  To comply with Katie’s instructions, there will not be a formal memorial service.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or Disabled American Veterans (DAV).  Katie died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Horizon Medical Center.

Born in Dickson County, Katie was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Estelle Bishop Cavender.  She worked as a meat cutter for the former Meek’s Market and was a member of Calvary Chapel Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Katie loved to watch butterflies and hummingbirds and all beautiful nature.

Survivors include her husband, Jackie W. Banks, Dickson; two daughters, Gloria Ann Banks, Dickson, and Jacquelyn R. Jones (Darron), Bon Aqua; two sons, David W. Banks (Kimberly), White Bluff and Randall L. Banks (Terri), Dickson; one sister, Annie Cavender, Nashville; two brothers, Joe Cavender (Sherry), Blytheville, WV, and Charles Cavender, Burns; 11 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.
