 Polly wanted to be cremated. A celebration of her life will take place on July 28, 2018 at Fifty Forward Madison Station in Madison, TN from 2-4 pm.

Pauline “Polly” Cross, age 74, passed away surrounded by love and family on July 7, 2018 at Alive hospice.

Mrs. Polly Cross was born on July 30, 1943, in Paris, TN to Paul and Macille Cole.  She graduated with a degree in Education from Bethel University and later obtained her Master’s degree from UT Martin. She was married to James E. Cross of Charleston, WV.  They lived in Gleason, TN for many years where she worked for the Weakly County Board of Education and eventually taught computer skills to high school students at the Weakly County Vocational School. She then moved to Dickson, Tennessee, where she spent the last years of her career as an elementary school guidance counselor at Charlotte Elementary School.

Polly liked to dress glamorously, always had her hair styled and nails manicured, and enjoyed being an active member of the Red Hats. She was a member of Fifty Forward Madison Station and sat on several committees there. She was heavily involved in her community at Sycamores Terrace. She loved sewing, painting, gardening, and shopping. She loved to go on outings and out to eat with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, James and Amie Coakley of Antioch, TN, her daughter and son in law Donnie and Julia Reynolds of Austin, TX, and her grandchildren, Austin, Luke, Antanea, and her great grandchildren, William and Rashad. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Cross.
