Mr. Howell, age 90, of Burns, TN died suddenly on December 24, 2018, at Natchez ER.
Mr. Howell was from Bingham, TN; he lived there until he was taken to the Church of Christ Orphan's home in Spring Hill, TN. He was then placed in a foster home in Manchester, TN until he joined the Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Germany after the war and was in the Berlin airlift when the Soviet Union erected the Berlin wall. From there, his duty stations were Alaska, Oklahoma, Georgia, Montana, Hawaii, and North Dakota.
During his enlistment, he met and married Carolyn, and they had five children. After retiring from the Air Force in 1972 with 24 years of service, he went to work as a diesel mechanic and later retired after 12 years of service.
He loved to fish and hunt every chance he got. Gardening was his favorite thing to do. He took pride in a large garden to share with everyone including his family and especially the women at the bank. He loved his purple martins and would sit and watch them endlessly.
He was always watching the clock to see if it was time to put on the coffee because the kids came by every afternoon to have coffee. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much. He had a big heart and was always willing to help in any way he could. You knew you would get a hug and a kiss when you came by and a hug and a kiss when you left. He was always standing in the door waving as you left.
During his illness, he was very strong while fighting his battle with cancer, and he never complained much. He fought hard to do everything himself and not to an inconvenience anyone.
His hugs, kisses, and quirky words will surely be missed.  Although we all will miss him dearly, we know in our hearts he is rejoicing in heaven and is with loved ones that have already passed.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Stewart Howell of Burns, TN; his two sons, Bruce Howell and wife Pattie of Dickson, TN and Keith Howell and wife Tina of Centerville,TN; his three daughters, Suzanne Elizabeth Adams and husband Danay of Conway, SC, Margie Fultz and husband Wayne of Vanleer, TN, and Melody Sullivan and friend Don of Dickson,TN; his brother, Issac Howell of Camden, TN and his sister, Fannie Mae Perez of Jackson,TN; his 6 grandchildren and his 9 great-grandchildren.
