Born in Williamson County, Tennessee, Polly was the first child of C. Virgil and Mallie Mae Sowell Buttrey. She was a retired machine operator for the former HIS Manufacturing Co. and the former Red Kap Industries. Polly was married for more than 58 years to Hulin Patrick. She was a longtime member of Parker’s Creek Baptist Church, where for many years she assisted her husband in his appointment as church treasurer. Her family was very important to her and in her retirement years she spent a great deal of her time caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Polly was a great cook and enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with her family, church members, and other friends. Even when she did not feel like getting out, she ministered to many church members and friends by being a “prayer warrior,” by sending cards and by calling to check on them. Her zest for life and her enthusiastic spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by a special niece, Anita Blanks.
Survivors include her husband, Hulin Patrick, Dickson; her two sons, Kirby Patrick, Antioch, TN and Dave Patrick (Christy), Dickson; her three sisters, Helen Barnett Lankford, Eula Ann Batey, and Betty Hafner (Royce), all of Dickson; her grandchildren, Andy Patrick (Amanda), Casey Patrick, Karter Patrick, Ivey Patrick, and Kenzie Richardson; her great-grandchildren, Natalie and Bryson; and several nieces and nephews.
