 Funeral services for Ted Daugherty will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 from Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7625 Union Valley Road, Fairview, TN.  The church’s Pastor, Bro. Thomas Sullivan will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Ted J.P. Daugherty, age 83 of Fairview, Tennessee passed away on July 17, 2020 following complications from a heart attack.  Ted was born in Fairview on May 15, 1937.  He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after 8 years of service.  He worked as a carpenter for Sullivan Builders for more than 35 years and then retired to take care of his beautiful bride.  He served the Lord as a Baptist pastor in at least three churches in this area and the other area of service to His Lord was his ministry in song.  He was a member of at least four gospel singing groups over the years:  The Pinewood Harmonizers, The Fairview Four, The Redeemed, and The Galileans. 

He was married to Dorothy M. White on November 21, 1962; they were married for 57 years and raised three beautiful children.  He raised his family to love the Lord and made sure they knew how important salvation was to each and every person.  Each of them has followed in their service to the Lord in some aspect, whether its music or ministry.

Ted is survived by his wife, Dorothy Daugherty, Fairview; three children, Sherri Mangrum (Rickey), Bon Aqua, Darlene Morgan (Bobby), Fairview, and Dwayne Daugherty (Tina), Bon Aqua; brother, David Daugherty (Barbara), Bon Aqua; sister Sue Smith (Gary), Beechgrove, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer Mangrum, Daniel Morgan (Bonnie), Victoria Wilson (Kevin), Ryan Morgan, Sydne Harrison (Austin), Shyra Daugherty, Tiffany Dotson (Macy), Elesha Richards (Corey), and Seth Daugherty; several great grandchildren, Alexis, Caleb, and Madelyn Morgan, Ireland and Gideon Morgan, Emmitt and Everly Rose Davidson, Natalie Harrison and Joseph and Annabelle Gordon, (and three more on the way!); and many nieces and nephews.  Ted was preceded in death by his parents, H. O. and Lena Daugherty and sixteen brothers and sisters.
