Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Earlene Turner Nicks, age 88 of Dickson were conducted Saturday May 26, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. George Caudill and Dr. B.J. Smith officiating. Place of rest is in the Dickson Union Cemetery. Mrs. Nicks died Wednesday May 23, 2012 at NHC Health Care. Born in McMinnville she was the daughter of the late John Firm and Nora Mae Griffin Turner and was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Clay Nicks and her brothers, Charles and Wayne Turner. She was Co-Owner of one of Dickson oldest businesses Nicks Hardware and retired after 51 years as a Registered Nurse where she worked for both Dr. William and Dr. Jimmy Jackson and most of the Doctors at the Jackson Clinic. She also had worked for Dr. Shannon Curtis, Dr. Wiser and Dr. Thuan. She was a long time member of the Walnut St. Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Samuel Turner Nicks of Dickson; daughter, Margo Nicks Ashby and her husband Tim of Madisonville, KY; brothers, John 'Bud' Turner, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of McMinnville, Douglas Turner and his wife Patsy of McMinnville; sisters, Hazel Stevens of Decherd, TN, Janie Cantrell McMinnville, Joyce Griffith of McMinnville, Karen Mathis and her husband Perry of McMinnville, Anita Brown and her husband Bill of Ashland City; sisters-in-law, Barbara Turner of McMinnville, Linda Turner of Smyrna; grandchildren, Lauren Kelene, Evan James, Nicklaus Parker Ashby; 32 nieces and nephews.
