A service of hope, remembrance and resurrection for Warren O. Noland, age 96 of Dickson was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Allen Weller officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Born in Monon, Indiana on December 30, 1916, Warren was the son of the late Shirley B. and Olivia Myatt Noland. His family moved back to the Iron Hill community of Dickson County when he was just a few months old and that has been his home ever since. He graduated in the Dickson High School Class of 1935. After graduation, he made his living as a farmer until he volunteered for service in the United States Army Air Corps during most of World War II. On his return to civilian life, he continued to farm and in 1951, he married Anne Mason of Robertson County. He tried dairy farming for a while, but switched to raising beef cattle and worked in several jobs over the years including Bon Aire Coal Company, Winner Boats, Hydra Sport Boats, and part-time for the former Buckner´┐Żs Dickson Funeral Home. He was proud to be a member of Dickson First United Methodist Church and its Fellowship Sunday School Class. He loved God, his family, his country, the Methodist Church and the Democratic Party. He also enjoyed gardening, visiting with family and friends, and trips to the Smoky Mountains and to Panama City Beach. Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Anne M. Noland, Dickson; children, Jimmy Noland (Linda), Dickson, Pam Noland Norris (Dale), Burns, Cindy Noland Comer, Lebanon, TN; brother, John B. Noland (Loretta), Dickson; sister, Irma Cotton (her friend, Leland Pigg), Santa Fe, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer Norris Roberts (Paul), David Norris, Daniel Norris, Jessica Comer Parham (Luke), Bradley Noland, Kelly Comer, and Alex Comer; great grandchildren, Rachel, Savanna, and Katie Beth Roberts, Chloe Noland, and one on-the-way, Ava Claire Parham; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Merrie S. Noland, and by his sisters, Dr. Winona Brooks, Oma Vaughn, and Fay McBroom
