A graveside service with military honors will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Taylor Funeral Home on Wednesday, beginning at 2:00 PM.
Bobby Hugh Fielder, Jr., age 61 of Dickson, TN died on the morning of May 15, 2023.
Bobby was born on February 9, 1962, in Dickson County. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country for a little over 5 years. While in the service he was recognized for his marksmanship as a sharpshooter, worked as a mechanic and with anti-aircraft defense systems. Bobby spent his working career as a painter. He was well known in the Dickson area for his talent, work ethic and fair prices. Bobby was also known for being a happy and joyful person. His generosity led him to help many people. He loved his family and grandchildren, and he always wanted them to be nearby. Perhaps his cheerfulness and love for others was due to an experience he once had with death and being brought back to life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Hugh Fielder, Sr.; his special friend, Tammy Cathey; and his grandparents, William and Vallie Fielder, and Delmer and Mae Grear Donegan.
Bobby is survived by his parents, Steve and Patricia Donegan Corbitt; his sons, Bryan Joseph Fielder (Earlene), Richard Earl Fielder, and Mason Jarett Fielder; his sister, Lisa Michelle Chappell (Chris); 7 grandchildren, Keenan Joseph Fielder, Kase Hugh Fielder, Koen Thomas Fielder, and Jaymeson Earl Fielder, Dillian McNeil, Ayden McNeil, and Eli Cathey; extended family; Autumn Pinkston, Matthew Cathey, as well as his pet dog, Bubba.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
