Celebration of Life services for Mr. Charles Edward Shively, age 81 of Burns will be Wednesday July 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with family members officiating. Place of rest will be in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday July 9th from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Services are under the direction of the Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Shively passed away Monday July 8, 2013 at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville. Born in Nashville, he was the son of the late John Alvin and Lillie Mai Sullivan Shively and was preceded in death by his son, John Victor Shively. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and was the former owner of Lewisburg Rubber and Gasket in Lewisburg and the owner of the former Shively’s Gulf Service Station in Dickson. Mr. Shively was an avid golfer and would make golf clubs for people and was a long time member of the former Dickson Country Club. He was loved by all. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, June Shively of Burns; sons, Van Shively and his wife Cheryll of Columbia, Les Shively of California; daughter, Pam Williams and her husband Danny of White Bluff; brothers, Jerry Shively and his wife Sarah of Nashville, Raymond Shively and his wife Lillian of Indiana; sisters, Mary Ann Shively of Nashville, Francis West and her husband Ken of Nashville; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews
