Albert Paten Thomasson

 Albert Paten "A.P." Thomasson, age 90 of Bon Aqua, TN died on February 11, 2014.  Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2014 from 2 PM until 8 PM with Masonic Services being at 7 PM. Visitation continues on Saturday beginning at 11 AM until time of service.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1 PM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Murrey officiating.  Place of rest will be in the Bon Aqua United Methodist Church Cemetery. For those desiring, Memorials may be made to the Bon Aqua United Methodist Church or to the Veterans Assoc. of Hickman County. 
 
Mr. Thomasson was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.  Born in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Willis H. and Maude Phy Thomasson.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Belle Pierce Thomasson.  He was a Master Mason in the Centerville Lodge #615.  He proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II, and was one of the last 27 surviving members of the elite group known as Merrill’s Marauders.  He and his wife owned and operated a local paint and body shop, garage and gas station for over 30 years.  He also retired as a school bus driver for the Hickman County Board of Education.  Mr. Thomasson was a former County Commissioner for Hickman County, he served his community for some 12 years.  He was the best Father a child could ever ask for.  He was a very gracious, pleasant and loving man.  He was a member of the Bon Aqua United Methodist Church for over 65 years.
 
Survivors include His Son, Michael Wayne Thomasson and his wife, Linda of Bon Aqua, TN; His daughters, Kay Boyd and her husband, Ray of Bon Aqua, TN, and Wanda Larkins and her husband, Morris of Lyles, TN; His only surviving Sister, Mary Potts of Lyles, TN; His Grandchildren, Mike Thomasson, Wayne Larkins, Kim Hackney, Dale Larkins, Albert Boyd, Jerry Body, Jenny Czarnecki; His 13 Great Grandchildren; and His 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
