     Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Steve Baggett, George Caudill and Glen Choate officiating. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, April 15th beginning at 3:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. until time of service. Place of rest will be in the Dickson Union Cemetery.
     For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Walnut Street Church of Christ or to the Shriner's Hospitals.
     Mrs. Oakley, age 90, of Dickson,TN died Monday April 13, 2015 at Dickson Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
     She was born in Lewis County, Tennessee, Imogene was the daughter of the late James Richard and Ethel Ida Daniel Downey. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Murrell Roberts, her second husband, Forrest Oakley, and  by a daughter, Carol Roberts Seeley. She worked in several retail businesses in downtown Dickson; Clemore's Pharmacy,  Federated Store, and Glynn's Fabric Store.
     Other than her family, two of her greatest loves were Walnut Street Church of Christ and Dickson Chapter No. 291, Order of the Eastern Star. She volunteered tirelessly in the work of both, sharing her time, cross-stitching, seamstress, quilting, and culinary skills with countless lives associated with the Church and "the Star". She was a member of the Eastern Star for more than 60 years serving as Worthy Matron, secretary, and many other offices. In 1986, she served as Grand Chaplain for the Grand Chapter, OES, State of Tennessee. She also volunteered in community activities, such as the Dickson County Cancer Crusade, Masonic functions, Heart Association, and Head Start. A capable speaker and joke-teller, she was at ease in a large crowd or in a one-on-one situation. Imogene always went out of her way to make others feel welcome and at home and was a mentor to many of the younger members.
     "MaGene" was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, and will surely be missed by all who knew her.
     Survivors include her two daughters, Janie Jones (Richard), Charlotte,TN, and Peggy Roberts of Hendersonville,TN; grandchildren, Deborah Betty (Rucker), Thomas Seeley (Jessie), Teresa Edwards (Lance), and Allyson Harmon (Bill); great-grandchildren, Michael Seeley, Megan Seeley, Caleb Seeley, Wyatt Harmon, and Mady Harmon; extended family, Keith Hood (Laura), Zach Hood, Rachael Sullivan, Ben Betty and Liz Betty; several nieces and nephews.
