   Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, October 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Neal officiating. Place of rest will be in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
   Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening, October 22nd from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
    Brenda, age 60, died peacefully October  17, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Melissa Gray.
    She was born in Davidson County, daughter of the late Edward  Emil Edward and Rita Lynn Brock Tate. She was a graduate of Antioch High School. Brenda was a former insurance rater and was of the Baptist faith. She was a free spirit who enjoyed life to its fullest. As a teenager in the 1970's  she loved that  period of time in her life and fit in very well.  Brenda was one that spoke her mind and always knew where you stood with her. She was affectionately referred to as "Granny" or "Granny Brenda" who loved nothing any better than spending time with her family and playing with her six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law; Ricky Gray, her brother and sister-in-law; William and Debbie Tate.
   She is survived by her two daughters; Melissa Gray of Fairview, TN, and Samantha Acevedo and her husband, Jonathan of Fairview, TN, her six grandchildren; Zack Gray, Jose Acevedo, Jordan Acevedo, Joshua Acevedo, Jonas Acevedo and Sophia Acevedo, her sister; Samantha Hutchison and her husband Billy of Kingston Springs, TN and her brother; Jerry Tate and his wife Barbara of Mt. Juliet, TN and her beloved  four legged companion, Molly.
