    Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, September 26, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 25th from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Place of rest will be in the Dickson Union Cemetery. 
     Jimmy, age 77, of Dickson,TN and Panama City Beach, FL died peacefully September 22, 2016 at Centennial Medical Center..

   Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou England; his son, Danny Brown; his brother, Sammy Brown (Debbie); several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  He was the son of the late J. C. and Ruth Donegan Brown and was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Brown.
      He was born in White Bluff, TN son of the late James Corbitt (J.C.) Brown, JR and Ruth Donegan Brown. he attended Columbia Military Academy and graduated from William James High School.  He was an avid golfer and for the last two years he was President of the Bay Point Men's Golf Association.  He was referred to as “Mr. B”
     He was co- owner of the former Brown’s Concrete and Block Co. in Dickson for many years. The company was founded in 1950 by his family and Jimmy joined the operation in 1957.  He and his brother, Sammy bought the business from their parents in 1978. The business grew having locations in Dickson, Nashville, and Ashland City. They later added the high quality concrete block manufacturing and brick distributorship to this venture.  The business was sold in 2009 and he retired to Bay Point at Panama City Beach Florida. The Brown’s received the Family Farm Heritage Award in 2002 from the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce. Jimmy was a long-standing member of Loyal Order of Moose serving as North District President of Tennessee Moose Association and had reached Legionnaire, Fellowship and Pilgrim degrees.
     
Active casket bearers will be: Benny Blair, Larry Fleet, Donnie Countryman, Norman Tyler, Chad Lewis and Cody Ashworth. Honorary will be: Dan Huffstutter, John Litchfield, Phil Hall, Wayne Betty, Jacky Weinstein, Ray Hamilton, Gerald Clifton, Terry Davis, Bay Point Men's Golf Association, Charles Haley, Josh Anderson, Art Gergman, Gary Long
