Private graveside services will be held at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville,TN. Those desiring memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. His wishes were to be cremated. Military honors will be observed.
Mr. Sockriter, age 89, of Dickson,TN died April 19, 2017 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville after a short stay.
He was born Octobr 21, 1927 in Berlin, Maryland. Son of the late Lyndal and Daisy Sockriter. Mr. Sockriter was a third generation barber, having been serving his clients for over 60 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army being honorably discharged in 1952. He had been a resident of Dickson for the past two years to be closer to his daughter.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his wife; Merle Sockriter, his daughter; Cindy Corlew and her husband, Jeff, his step-children;Gary McCauley, Pat McCAuley, Neil McjCauley and Amy Erbacher and his three step grandsons.
