     Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, May 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Steven Lee will officiate and Tommy Nicks will give her eulogy. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Eastern Star services will be conducted  Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Place of rest will be in the Dickson Union Cemetery.
   Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
   Mrs. Blake, age 93, of Dickson,TN died peacefully May 6, 2017 at NHC of Dickson,TN.
   She was born in Nashville, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Thomas B. "Fox" and Hattie Thompson Howell.  She was a graduate of William James High School in White Bluff, TN where she played basketball.  After high school she  worked as a dental assistant at Camp Campbell. Later meeting the love of her life, Dr. Daniel W. Blake, she began working with him in his dental practice in Dickson and later married him.  Dr. Blake preceded her in death.
   She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church where she attended the Fellowship Sunday School Class and was a member of the Mary Martha Circle.  Mrs. Blake was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She also was a charter member of the local United Daughters of the Confederacy.  During her active years she was a active member of the local garden club, Dickson County Historical Society and the local book review club. She loved doing genealogy work in her spare time and appreciated the efforts of others that  showed interest in genealogy work. 
   Survivors include her children; Dan Blake and his wife, Anita of Nashville,TN, Rodney Blake and his wife, Wendy of Clarksville,TN, Andy Blake and his wife, Harriette of Franklin,TN, Bettye Eighmy and her husband, John of Dickson,TN and Danielle Lewis of White Bluff,TN. Her 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
   A special thanks and appreciation to all of her caregivers during her illness at home, at NHC and from Caris. Your love and care for her will always be remembered.
   Family members will serve as active casket bearers and Honorary bearers will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class, members of Mary Martha Circle, members of  the Eastern Star and members of the United Daughters of the Confedercy.
