          A funeral service for Billy Ray “Bill” Stringer, age 77 of Bellevue, formerly of White Bluff will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with his son, Collin Stringer officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, McCrory Lane, Nashville.  Mr. Stringer died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Bellevue.  Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 3 until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.

     Born in White Bluff, Bill was the son of Doris Stringer and the late Callie Odom Stringer.  He served in the United States Navy and was a member of Central Church of Christ.  Bill was a retired letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service.  He was married to his wife of more than 54 years, Frances Robbie Baker Stringer.  She preceded him in death in 2014.

     Survivors include his father, Doris Stringer, Georgia; two sons, Bryan Stringer (Jenny Lynn), Kingston Springs, TN, and Collin Stringer (Jori), Orange, CA; a half-brother, Gary Krystof, Northridge, CA; four half-sisters, Donna Bennett, Diane Knopik, Debbie Salsman, and Marty Gaddy; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
