Greg was born into a rich Nazarene heritage in Charleston, West Virginia on July 23, 1957.  He attended the Bethany Nazarene College where he was a member of The Collegians, a traveling quartet.  He was a retired heat and air salesman, once affiliated with Donelson Air of Nashville, TN.  He had a deep passion for worship leading and he served in that capacity for several decades in Dickson, TN at First Church of the Nazarene, United Freewill Baptist Church, and Pomona Baptist Church.  Whether leading a choir, praise team or congregation, he loved to make a joyful noise and encouraged others to do so.  Greg had inherited a wonderful sense of humor from his father.  He loved to make people laugh.  It didn’t matter if you were family, stranger, waitress or nurse, he could make you the subject of his humor.  In his case laughter was medicine, smiles were priceless.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  Seeing his grandchildren made him so happy.  He was preceded in death by his father and mentor, Rev. Jay C Bybee.

Survivors include his wife, Faith Elliott Bybee, of Dickson, TN; his mother, Norma Rushing Bybee of Dickson, TN; his children, Jayson Bybee (Cynthia) of Dickson, TN, April Tummins (Philip) of Dickson, TN, Cathrine Holloway (Josh) of Nashville, TN, John Bybee of Dickson, TN, Michael Bybee of Dickson, TN; his sister, Beverly Johnson of Dickson, TN; grandchildren, Brandon Jenkins, Kaytlin Jenkins, Kaysen Bartok, Grant Tummins, Victoria Holloway, LJ Bybee, Oliver Tummins, Christian Bybee, Elizabeth Bybee, Samuel Bybee, Austin Bybee, and grandson to be, William Robert Bybee; great grandchildren, Kaiilyn, Roman, Cezar, and Maximus; Aunts and Uncles, Oliver Rushing, Justine Knight, Rachel Archer, Edna Westmoreland, Ruby Barber, Dorsey Rushing; nieces and nephews, Natalie Johnson, Brandon Nelson, Adrienne Weigel, Bethany Rose Elliott, Juliette James, Sullivan McCollum, and Bridgette McCollum; mother-in-law, Barbara Martin Elliott; brother-in-law, Bill Elliott; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Nelson, and Jennifer McCollum.
