A memorial service for Kathy C. Noland, age 62 of Dickson, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Hyeon Hong officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until time of service.  Memorials may be made to Burns United Methodist Church or to the Arthritis Foundation.  Kathy died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Horizon Medical Center following complications of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Born in Oakland, California Kathy was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nolan McClure.  As she was growing up, she lived all over the United States (wherever her father, who was a U. S. Navy Veteran was stationed).  She graduated in 1973 from the Yorktown, Virginia High School.  Following high school, she honorably served her country by enlisting in the U. S. Navy where she served for eight years.  With plans to attend college after her stint in the service, she was instead “urged” to begin a career with Diversified Printing because of her computer and technical knowledge and skills.  She served that company and its successor companies and retired when it was Quad Graphics after 30 years of service.   Along the way, she married her farmer husband, Benny Noland in 1986 and together they farmed as fourth generation farmers on what is now the Noland Century Farm in the Iron Hill community of Dickson County.  Because of her infectious laughter, her great personality, and her great interest in people, she was immediately accepted and loved by her husband’s family, her co-workers, and fellow church members at Burns United Methodist Church.  She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Benny S. Noland, Dickson; her son, Matt Warf (Angie), Burns; her daughter, Tracy Warf, Dickson; her sister, Judy Shoemaker, Florida; and her grandchildren, Austin Blount and Kaden England.  She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Hudgens.
