Bobby Owen Parker, age 71 of Slayden, TN died on Thursday, October 31, 2019.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Parker was born May 10, 1948, on Leatherwood Creek.  He will join in Heaven his parents, Luther and Roberta Imogene Parker.  He was a Vietnam Veteran that proudly served his Country from 1965-1968.  Upon completion of service, he was awarded a Purple Heart for his injuries received during combat.  He was joined in marriage on December 21, 1968, with Linda Jean Davenport, and began a journey that would last his lifetime.  He was a retired postmaster with 25 years of service for the U.S. Postal Service.  From 1990 until 2009, he was the owner and operator of B.O. Parker Trucking.  Bobby was a farmer and a cattleman, and he loved his work.  Being outside on the farm and tinkering with farm equipment was a source of enjoyment and often created opportunities for helping others.  Mr. Parker was a generous man. He was always willing to give time, money, and resources to help people of all walks of life without an expectation of receiving anything in return.  As a loving father of three and a devoted husband for over 50 years, he was a provider and family man with character and values, and one that trusted in the Lord.  His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss their “Bob.”

Bobby Parker is survived by his wife, Linda Jean Davenport Parker; his children, Rodney O. Parker (Jennifer) of Slayden, TN, Jackie Parker Latson (Shane) of Clarksville, TN, and Jill Elaina Sher (Drew) of Coppell, TX; his sister, Patreva Ann Cornell; his brother, Harold Wayne Parker; grandchildren, Lucas Owen Parker, Daniel Cole Parker, Dylan James Pitts, Alexis Dawn Zellers, Haley Kay Latson, Jenna Grace Parker, and Addison Lane Sher; great grandchildren, Levi James Parker, Riley Owen Nolen, and Charli Louise Parker.
