Tennie E. Noble of Charlotte, Tennessee passed away peacefully at her home on January 20th at the grand age of 95.  She was born December 16, 1924 to the late Benjamin F. & Bertha G. Berry, on the same land she lived on for the past 54 years.

After graduating from Charlotte High School in 1942, Tennie moved to Nashville where she graduated business school and worked at Brew Insurance Company for 13 years.  It was during this time she met her future husband, William, who had been stationed at Sewart Air Force Base.  They married on May 3, 1952 and later moved to Germany where Bill was stationed with the Air Force for several years.  Upon arriving back in the states, they moved to Oregon, Georgia, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and California before settling in Charlotte, TN in 1966.  They purchased Tennie’s grandfather Kay Berry’s farm, where they enjoyed raising their two young children and working the land.  Tennie was very proud of the fact that for several years all they had to buy from the store was milk and bread; the rest coming from their four gardens and the livestock they raised.  She especially loved sitting on the front porch swing watching the cattle graze during the days and fireflies glowing at night. She was a member of the Charlotte Fagan United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Tennie was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Noble; brothers Morris Thomas Berry, Ward Douglas Berry, Benjamin Franklin Berry, Jr.; sisters Dorothy Aileen Miller, Mildred Louise Daniel, Mary Evelyn Myers, Betty Lou Berry; nephews Joe Lambert, Johnny Daniel.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William; son Phillip Noble and his wife Beth; granddaughter Brenna Noble; grandson Ethan Noble; sister Imogene Berry Morris; nephews Brent Morris, Kerry Morris, Bennie Daniel, Frank Berry, Jr; nieces Sandra Menter, Janet Harris, Martha Swift.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00am from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home.  Reverend Nick Baird-Chrisohon will officiate.  Visitation will be Friday evening, January 24th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Saturday beginning at 10:00am until time of service.  Place of rest will immediately follow the service at Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
