Funeral services will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. A burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. 


Cleveland Ovester Sanders, age 74, of Dickson, passed from this life on March 4, 2020 at NHC of Dickson. He was born to the late Jimmy Reed Sanders and Flossie Bell Jackson Sanders on March 30, 1945 in Montgomery County. Cleve loved going to church, as he attended many different churches in the area. He also loved to watch football among other sports. And last, but certainly not least, he had a great love for fried chicken.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Northington Sanders; his sons, Cleveland James Sanders and Edward Dwayne Northington; and his brothers, Clyde Sanders and Jimmy Lee “Lil Jim” Sanders.

Survivors include his son, Marvin Wayne Northington; his daughter, Aimee Northington (Anthony Oldham); his brother, Walter Reed Sanders; his sisters, Mary Sanders Wright (Herbert) and Ann Horner Jones; his grandchildren, Damesia Northington, Deminica Northington, Cleveland Northington, Ja-Len Brown, and Channing Northington; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
