 Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Noon from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. John Murray will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, December 15th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Order of the Eastern Star service will be Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. followed by Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m.  Interment with military honors will follow funeral services on Wednesday at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. To view his funeral Wednesday December 16th at 12 PM noon, click HERE.

Mr. Jackson, age 85, of Joelton formerly of Charlotte, TN died November 24, 2020, at Tri-Star Horizon Medical Center.

He was born in Charlotte, Tennessee son of the late Charlie Martin and Hagar Ollie Wells Jackson.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cory Matlock, and a granddaughter, Emily Matlock, and his brother in law Junior Felts.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, the United States Air Force, and the National Guard. He served his country for 28 years.  He was a member of the Iron Lodge #503 and was a fifty-year mason. He also was active in the Order of the Eastern Star where he served for fifty years and was a member of the Madison East Nashville #1. He was a member of the Madison Freewill Baptist Church.

He was a graduate of Charlotte High School, class of 1953.  After his military career, he owned and operated the former Jackson’s Country Café in White Bluff, and he worked with the Dickson County Sheriff’s Department for many years. He also worked as a bus driver for the Dickson County Board of Education.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ruth Miles Jackson; his son, Marty Jackson; his daughters, Bridget (Ricky) Matlock and Anita (Mike) Bristol. Also surviving are his step-children, Ernest (Val) Harper and Lora Hickman, and his only sister, Emma Jean Felts. His grandchildren, Joe Matlock, Luke Matlock, Heather (Quintin) Freeman, Alex Spicer, Jake Spicer, Wes (Becca) Harper, Tess Illges (Mat) and Emily Hickman, and his 12 great-grandchildren. Last but not least, his special little buddy, Dax Brown, and several nieces and nephews.
