A private family memorial service for Matthew Scott “Matt” Helsel, Sr., age 41 of McEwen is being planned at a later date. He passed Monday, May 17, 2021 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Born in Garden City, Michigan, Matt was the son of Barbara Ann Schaefer (Deane) and Walter Roger Helsel. He worked as a driver for a wrecker company.
Survivors include his wife, Samantha Price Helsel, Kenton, TN; his father, Walter Helsel, Iuka, MS; his mother, Barbara Ann Deane, McEwen; sons, Nathan Cardenas, Preston Price, Chris Helsel, Levi Helsel, and Matthew Helsel, Jr., all of McEwen; daughters, McKayla Helsel and McKenzie Helsel, both of McEwen; his brothers, Dominick Bosillo, McEwen, Walter R. Helsel, Jr. and Martin Gladiator, both of Michigan; and a sister, Kimberly Lynn McCord, McEwen; two grandchildren.
