Wilma Lee Donaldson

Funeral services will be Saturday July 17, 2021, at 11 AM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Mitch Stevens officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson Union Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday July 16th from 4 to 8 PM. Those desiring memorials may be made to the Memphis School of Preaching.
Wilma Lee Donaldson, age 89 of Dickson, TN passed away Wednesday July 14, 2021, after a brief illness. Born in Dickson County she was the daughter of the late Perry and Glayds Cullom Nicks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Barr Donaldson and 3 brothers and a sister. Wilma was a strong Christian woman who loved the Lord. She enjoyed weekly lady Bible Classes and she read and studied her Bible daily. After the death of her husband Wilma started going to the Dickson Senior Center where she made many new friendships and enjoyed several different activities they had there to offer. She took photography lessons while attending there and did paintings and she also enjoyed writing and the joy people got from her writings. Wilma enjoyed going on different outings with her friends and it didn’t matter if it was just a day trip or a trip like she just recently took to Gatlinburg where she stayed a few days. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved gardening and working in her flowers. In earlier years she always had a large garden and during those months she was always busy canning and freezing vegetables and one of her specialties was making Kraut. Wilma was an excellent cook, making anything from biscuits and corn bread to chicken and dressing at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was a member of Oak Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children, Linda Overton (Larry) of Dickson, TN, Sherry Lashlee (Kevin) of Dickson, TN, Edwin Donaldson (Cindy) of Dickson, TN; 5 grandchildren, Brad Overton, Dan Overton (Autumn), Justin Lashlee (Amy), Rachel Burrus (Blake), Michael Donaldson; 6 great grandchildren, Seth Overton, Eden Overton, Ethan Overton, Mason Overton, Landon Lashlee, Lyla Lashlee; brother, Wallace Nicks of Michigan.
