Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Marie McCord (Marie), age 95 of Lyles, TN, will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 2:00PM from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Manning and Rev. Sam Brown officiating. She will be laid to rest in Hilltop Cemetery beside her husband, John W. McCord, who preceded her in death in December 2011. At the time of his passing, they had been married for 66 years. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.

Born in 1926, Marie was the last surviving sibling among twelve brothers and sisters. She passed peacefully on Monday, August 9, 2021. She lived her life as a devoted wife and committed herself to raising her children. Affectionately known as Granny, she also helped to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, instilling the values of faith, love, hard work, honesty and integrity. She was a member of the Clearview Church of Christ and put God and faith first and foremost in her life.

Survivors include her son, Tom McCord, and his wife Lois, of Dallas, GA; her daughter, Debbie McCord Brown, and her husband, Sam, of Burns, TN; her six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
