 A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Sesler officiating.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be held at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, August 24th at 10:00 AM. 

Marilyn Sue Wright Carpenter, age 79 of Burns, TN passed away on August 14, 2021 at the TriStar Horizon Medical Center.

Marilyn was born October 21, 1941 in Rosiclare, IL to Milburn and Ruth Downey Wright.  She was married for 37 years to the love of her life, Elwood Carpenter.  The two forged a life together based on the Grace, Word and Mercy of God. 

Marilyn was most proud of her children Kevin and Lynette.  Her greatest source of joy was her grandchildren, Loren, Summer, Alyssa, Quent and Shae.  Often saying “My greatest accomplishments are my children, because they gave me my greatest joy, my grandchildren.”

“Mommy, thank you for all you’ve given to us, and for loving us in all our forms.  Until we meet again, rest in peace.”

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Elwood Carpenter; her son, Kevin (Lori) Natterstad; her daughter, Lynette (Sean) Greer; grandchildren, Quent (Alexis) Natterstad, Shae (Brooks) Bass, Loren (Drew) Furr, Summer (Coleman) Spann, and Alyssa Greer; 6 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Emma Grace, Saint, Walt, Wells, and Audrey Shay.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of these she loved deeply. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Wright; and sister, Caroline Wright Tidwell.
