Virginia Cecilia Genella Rogan, age 89 of Dickson, passed from this life on November 9, 2021, at NHC of Dickson after a short stay.  

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at the St. Christopher's Catholic Church.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home with a Rosary Service taking place at 5:00 p.m.  Burial will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Middle Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery.  

She was born on January 13, 1932, in Nashville, TN to the late Frank H. and Virginia Murphy Genella. She was married to the late Robert Andrew Rogan, Sr. for over 57 years upon his passing in October of 2014. She worked for many years as an LPN.

 Virginia was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. She was a devout member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Dickson for many years. She proudly volunteered with Women’s Guild and the Knights of Columbus of St.Christopher’s, assisting in any way she could.

 Mrs. Rogan’s favorite title was that of “Granny” to her five grandchildren. She loved to cook for friends and family, always willing to bake a cake when needed, or even when not needed. She could also be found working in her yard or watching birds at her bird feeders from time to time.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Dr. Frank Genella and Charles Genella.

Survivors include her children: Andrea Tidwell (Ronnie) of Burns and Robert Andrew Rogan, Jr. (Tammy) of Dickson; her brother: Milton Genella (Linda) of Dickson; her grandchildren: Major Nicholas Tidwell of Hopkins, SC, Brianna Tidwell of Bryan, TX, Andrew Rogan, Emily Rogan, and Ethan Rogan, all of Dickson; her sister- ‐in- ‐law: Judy Genella of Oak Ridge, TN; 4 nieces; 1 nephew; and caregiver and friend: Berdie Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher’s Catholic Church of Dickson, TN or St. Jude Childrens’ Hospital.
