Funeral services for David Cordell Pulley, age 82 of Dickson, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home.  Interment, with military honors, will follow in Rock Church Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service.  He died Sunday evening, December 19th in Horizon Medical Center.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Born in Dickson County, David was the son of the late J. W. and Cornelia Goodwin Pulley.  He was married to the former JoAnn Overton (Pulley), who preceded him in death in 2016.  David retired from Ford Glass Plant and then enjoyed a second career driving a school bus for the Dickson County School System.  He developed a rapport with the kids on his bus and was much-loved as a driver.  When he drove for extra-curricular events, many kids and their “parent chaperones” strived to get on “David’s bus!”

In addition to his parents and his wife, David was predeceased by two brothers, George Pulley and Cloyd Pulley.

Survivors include his son, Dan Pulley (Jo Beth), White Bluff; daughter, Paige Pulley Blanks, Dickson; a brother, Jim Pulley (Mary Alice), of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Jacob Blanks, Eli Blanks, and Lauren Hobbs (Mark Woodard); two great-grandchildren, Evan Holt and Samuel Woodard; several nieces and nephews.
