Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Petty officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 30 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.  To view a livestream of the service on Friday at 2:00 PM, please click HERE.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Travis Newberry, Kyle Newberry, Daylon Wall, Benjamin Ezell, Austin Newberry, Caden Newberry, Bailey Hampton, and Joe Manor.

Mrs. May Helen Travis Donegan, age 77 of Dickson, passed from this life on December 26, 2021 at NHC of Dickson while surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 6, 1944 in Dickson County to the late Elijah Lee and Ruby Mae Jones Travis.

May Helen's favorite job title was that of “Nanny”. She loved and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She was also a fierce supporter of her husband, Don’s racing career, and could be found at the dirt track on any given day cheering him on before his passing in 2017. She also loved to play bingo in her later years and was a member of the Pomona Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Donegan was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her brother: Olen “Sam” Travis; and two grandchildren: Natasha Wall and Karie Newberry.

Survivors include her daughters: Teresa Newberry (Charles) of Dickson, Rhonda Ezell (Ben) of New Johnsonville, Melinda Waynick (Mike) of Waverly; her son: Derrick Donegan (Natalie) of Murfreesboro; her sister: Gennine Jarman (Tony) of Charlotte; sister-in-law Mamie Travis; step-sister: Kay Kenderdine (Eddie) of Nashville; grandchildren: Travis, Kyle, Kara, Brandy, Daylon, Devin, Benjamin, LaDonya, Keshea, Chloe, and Megan; as well as several great and great-great grandchildren.
