Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Baggett officiating. Visitation with the family will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 12 noon until the time of service also at the funeral home. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

For those desiring, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Betty Jo Tidwell, age 89, of Hendersonville, TN, passed from this life on June 20, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 30, 1933, in Dickson County to the late Eugene Basil and Lora Pearl DeBusk Tidwell. She was a Christian by faith, having attended the Church of Christ for many years.

Ms. Tidwell was known for her love of flowers – having been a floral designer for over 35 years as well as a Secretary at Nashville Memorial Hospital in the Radiology Department for over 24 years. She also served as a Patrol Mother for several years. In her free time, she could be found arranging flowers, singing country or gospel music or reading. In her younger years, she belonged to a local country music band out of Dickson County.

Betty Jo was preceded in death by her parents: Eugene B. and Pearl Tidwell; and her sister: Peggy Tidwell Gossett.

Survivors include her daughter: Joyce West Coggins (Terry) of Gallatin; her son: Randall Gene West (Dianne) of Hendersonville; her grandchildren: Kimberly Brannan (Tim) of White House and Tammy Sutton (Chris) of Hendersonville; her great-grandchildren: Kelsea Brannan, Timothy Brannan, Jr. (Alexis), Stephen Sutton (Holly), and Spencer Sutton; great-great grandchildren: Bailey Ann, Madilynn, Camden, and Cooper; her sister: Joyce Crawford, of Nashville; her nephew: Larry Logue Davis, of Nashville; and special friends: Joyce Gray, Carol Allen, Tammy Gibson, Nancy and Mickey Fuqua, Denise Plummer, Jenny and David Lucas, Christy Marcin, and Regina Martin.

Those serving as Pallbearers are: Terry Coggins, Sr., Chris Sutton, Tim Brannan, Sr., Tim Brannan, Jr., Anthony Dukes, and Austin Wilds.

 

Ms. Tidwell’s family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers: Gladys Clements, Linda Mosier, Samantha and Anthony Dukes, Zachariah Watkins, and Sharon Marlin Wix.
