Rickey Eugene Guthrie, age 69, of Burns, TN died suddenly on Friday, July 15, 2022 while visiting his mother in Springfield, TN.

He was born in Indiana to Betty Jean Smith Guthrie and the late John Robert Guthrie.  He was a 1971 graduate of Donelson High School, the last graduating class before a school merger.  There he met the love of his life, Nadine Ingram where they were the prom king and queen and Mr. and Mrs. D.H.S. In high school he was nicknamed “Crash” for his love of driving with speed.  He had a deep passion for cars especially the 1955 Chevy’s.   Rickey and Nadine were married after high school and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Rickey was affiliated with 31-W Insulation for many years. He held various positions there but was mainly in sales. Rickey was known as the one that got to work early and started coffee. While he was waiting on others to come into work he would study and ready his bible. Often his coworkers would stop in and visit and ask for prayer. He was not only a coworker but a trusted mentor.

Rickey proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Rickey was a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  His faith ran deep always wanting to help others. His “main thing” was his family. He loved family and loved being involved in their lives. Another passion Rickey had was hunting and fishing and spending time on his Yellow Creek farm.

He is survived by his wife; Nadine Ingram Guthrie of Burn, TN, his son; Dustin Guthrie and his wife, Tosha of Burns, TN, his daughter; Stacey Green and her husband Lawson of Burns, TN, his Mother; Betty Guthrie of Springfield, TN, his grandchildren; Shelbi Mitchell and her husband, Seth, Spencer Green, Bryce Green and Hunter Guthrie, his great grandchildren; Brynleigh Mitchell and Annalise Mitchell, his sister; Gail McCrary and her husband, Ronnie of Springfield, TN. Rickey was preceded in death by a beautiful, vibrant granddaughter, Mallory Guthrie, his father John Guthrie.
