Jerry E. Moore, age 75 of McEwen, TN died on June 28, 2022 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Moore was born September 24, 1945 in Russellville, Alabama.  He was a son of the late James and Willie Fuller Moore.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.  He served in the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Services Medal and 2 Bronze Stars, and The Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60. (Tanks)

 Jerry was a retired over the road car hauler for Cassen Transport where he worked for over 25 years and received a ring from Cassens for his dedication to the company.

He enjoyed raising cattle and farming his ranch when he lived in Alabama. He loved racing and was in several races while living in Illinois in the 60’s and 70’s. He also enjoyed carpentry work adding his special touch to several homes he owned over the years. One of his greatest joys besides having the grandkids visit was teaching his grandson Tyler and Stetson how to catfish from the peer of his pond on the property in Alabama.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara Moore; his daughters, Tami Moore, and Barbara Strong (Rudy); his brother, Ray Moore (Donna); sisters, Nell Schmitt (Jerry), and Debbie Wilson.  Also surviving are his pride and joy; Grandchildren, April (Jason) Noe, Stephanie Magnuson, Samantha (Michael) Anderson, Tyler (Casey) Jenkins, Stetson (Brooklyn) Magnuson, Summer (Cody) Enyeart. Great grandchildren, Trenton Noe, Peyton Ferris, Tyler Noe, Reid Crouse, Lucas Ferris, Kenleigh Anderson, Kaylen Jenkins and Oaklyn arriving in November 2022. And a very special friend  for many years, Larry Adams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Percy Moore; and a sister, Barbara Pinkard and special friend and brother in law Leon Pinkard. And twins son and daughter, Jerry Edward Jr. and Sherry Lynn Moore

There will be a memorial with a 21 gun salute on Jerrys birthday September 24, 2022. This will be at the VFW in Belvidere Illinois at 12:00pm.
