A visitation with the family of Diane White McClurkan, age 77, of Vanleer will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 3 until 7 p.m.  She will be cremated following the visitation.  The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the Humane Society of Dickson County.  Mrs. McClurkan passed unexpectedly Friday, September 23, 2022.

Raised in McEwen, Tennessee, Diane was the daughter of the late James Boyd and Blanche Marie Brake White.  She was a member of the Slayden Church of God of Prophecy.  Now retired, Diane had worked for the Mrs. Winners Corporation in Maryland Farms as a Executive Manager over the accounting and maintenance department. She was also a small business owner of the Pool Store in Dickson County, up until her retirement. She loved her family:  her kids enjoyed a wonderful childhood because of her playful and loving (and sometimes mischievous!) practical jokes.  She loved to hear her husband sing and she was known to play along on the harmonica he bought her.  Diane loved working in the outdoors.  Whether it was yard work, tending her flowers, or bush-hogging in the field, she enjoyed the outdoors and was not afraid of hard work.  She was fair and honest, but could be direct!  Above all, she cared for others.  Her pastor described her as having a huge heart and that she “had enough love to supply the whole world!”

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, James McClurkan, Vanleer; her children, John Clapper of  Dickson, Raini Walker (Lance Uffelman) of Erin, Jamie McClurkan  of McEwen, Chris Clapper (Deana) of Charlotte, and Jimmy McClurkan (Tina) of Dickson; her grandchildren, Jorden Walker, Tanner McClurkan, Braden Clapper, Morgan Clapper, Kaitlyn Hovatter, Kendall McClurkan, Kaleigh McClurkan, Savannah Cathey, Alex Lyle, Timothy Clapper, Alisha Clapper, Katrina Clapper, Shannon Clapper and Chelsea Clapper; many beloved great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a brother, James Donald White.
