Linda died Friday, November 18, 2022, at St. Thomas West with her family by her side.

Linda was born in Dickson and was a daughter of the late Billy H. and Lilia Reynolds Armstrong. She went to work at an early age for her parents in their businesses at Broadway Drive-In Theater and the Plaza Theater in Dickson. She was a 1971 graduate of Dickson High School.  Always in the Dickson County School system, she attended classes at Vanleer Elementary, Dickson Elementary, William James High School in White Bluff and Dickson High School. Linda attended Austin Peay State University and worked for many years at the former Commerce Union Bank and at some of its successor banks. When her department closed, she worked for a short time for the Dickson Credit Bureau. Next, she worked in temporary positions with the State of Tennessee and then a full-time position at Employment Security Credit Union. In her retirement years she worked part-time at the Bank of Dickson. It was there that she seemed to “click” and she surely loved her association with the bank and all their employees.

Linda was a member of the Dickson First United Methodist Church and its Fellowship Sunday School Class. She recently signed up with their Gardening Committee and Cookies for Christ program.

She was also an active member of the Dickson Chapter #291, Order of Eastern Star where she served several times as Worthy Matron and other positions. It was also where she met her husband of 41 years. Other interests of hers included flowers and gardening, decoration and floral design, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and other family members. Linda loved the time she spent in the Red Hat Society of Dickson.  She loved coffee and carried a cup with her nearly everywhere she went. She was a loving wife to her husband, a wonderful and supportive mom to her son, a sweet “Nana” to her grandchildren, and beloved sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jimmy Noland of Dickson, TN; son, Bradley Noland (Cate Decaney and her son Jayden) of Dickson TN; granddaughters, Chloe Noland, and Abigail Noland; several step- grandchildren; a sister Diane Bailey (Mike), Franklin, TN; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; sisters-in-law Pam Norris (Dale) Burns, TN and Cindy Comer of Shelbyville, TN.

Linda’s family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Mark Stubblefield, Dr. Elizabeth Lyons, Dr. Stacy Vallejo, and the wonderful caring staff at St. Thomas West Medical ICU.
