Dorothy Jean Luther Wetterau, age 89, of Hendersonville, formerly of Bon Aqua, and Dickson, passed away on March 4, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Nashville after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Bessie Myatt of Lyles, and her siblings Betty, Marie, Mae, Mary, Carlos, and Charles Ray. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Tommy Luther of Bon Aqua, and Robert Wetterau of Dickson.

Dorothy attended school in Hickman and Davidson County. She obtained her GED after becoming a wife and mother, and while pursuing her career. Additionally, she completed a Dale Carnegie Course in order to enhance her skills, and took courses at the Vocational School in Dickson. She had a long employment history at companies in Dickson including Henry I Siegel, Red Cap, Schrader Automotive, and Quebecor Printing. As a side business she was a sales representative for Tiara Glassware and enjoyed making many new friends along the way.

Faith in Christ was of utmost importance to Dorothy. She became a Christian as a child and was an active member of the Pomona Church of Christ prior to moving to Hendersonville. She especially enjoyed activities with the Beautiful 60’s fellowship, and serving in the Food Ministry. While living at her retirement community, Red Cedar Glen, she attended services there provided by the Hendersonville Church of Christ. She was a woman of unshakable conviction.

Dorothy deeply loved her family and gladly sacrificed for them. Her warm smile and encouraging words will be deeply missed. She is survived by her only child, Dr. Roger D. Luther (Lynne) of Hendersonville, grandchildren Jessica Walsh (Jason), Kathryn Burkhart, Chandler Luther (Alexis), and Shane Hackert (Mandy), ten great-grandchildren , and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband Robert’s children, Rob (Debbie) Wetterau, Jim (Sandy) Wetterau, and Pam Danley, their children and grandchildren. Additionally, there are many nieces, nephews, and close family friends who grieve her passing.

A private interment at Dickson County Memorial Gardens will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
