Funeral services for Marvin Tidwell, age 75 of Vanleer will begin at 3 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Tummins and Bro. Roger Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 2 until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 12 noon until time of service. Mr. Tidwell died Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his home. For those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Human Society of Dickson County.
Born in Hohenwald, Marvin was the son of the late Grover and Annie Cornelia Baker Tidwell. He was a member of the Sylvia Church of Christ. Marvin retired from the Animal Control Department of the Dickson Co. Sheriff’s Office. He enjoyed the outdoors; especially time spent fishing. Earlier this year, he was preceded by his wife, Sheila Shirley Tidwell. He was also preceded by a brother, Wayne Tidwell.
Survivors include his children, Tonya Bates (Jim), Lyles, TN, Sabrina Pelt (Mitchell), Port St. Joe, FL, and Buddy Bales (Jerrica), Wytheville, VA; his brothers, James Tidwell (Marilyn), Lyles, TN, Anthony Tidwell (Brenda), White Bluff, TN, and Dennis Tidwell (Sherry), Centerville, TN; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
