Tina Denise Ransbottom Murphy, 56 of Dickson, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her home.  Her wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.

Born in La Porte, Indiana, Tina was the daughter of Donald Ransbottom, South Bend, Indiana, and the late JoAnne Hines Ransbottom (Welch).  She moved to Tennessee when she was a little girl and grew up in the Pond Community with her grandmother, Gladys Hines.  Her three best childhood friends were Scarlett (Hall) James, Robert Greer, and Wanda Claxton.

Tina was a loving mother and an outstanding grandmother (Nanny).  She loved shopping for deals on eBay (mostly toys for grandbabies!).  She loved playing on Facebook and taking the kids to play in the creek at Montgomery Bell State Park.  She loved having her nails painted and her hair done.  She loved nature and watching sunsets.  Another favorite pastime was watching the hummingbirds.  She loved to decorate and hang curtains.  In later years, she handed that job off to her daughter, Cate (“Boop”) although she still played a big role … just from her spot on the couch, instead!  And she liked reading romance novels.

She is at peace.  Her body has been restored.  She no longer struggles for a breath of air.  She has reunited with loved ones that have gone before her.  She was preceded by her husband, Adrian “Jack” Murphy.

Besides her father, she is survived by her children, Brandon Mark Decaney (Kasey), Duck River, TN, and Caitlin Decaney (Bradley Noland), Dickson, TN;  brothers, Dennis Stevens, Dickson, TN, Jeff Ransbottom, Brian Ransbottom, and sister, Melissa Nate, all of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Destiny Decaney, Kyra Decaney, Jayden Gordon, Carma Noland (the newest addition to her family in February), Chloe Noland, and Abigail Noland; several nieces, special friends, and extended family; her cats, Lilly and Savannah, her grand cat, Hank and her grand dog, Coco.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Avalon/Gentiva Hospice.
