Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 2:00pm from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Sesler officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 12:00pm until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers.
Anthony Wayne McCann Sr., age 65, of Jonesboro, AR, died at his home on Monday, May 29, 2023. He had lived in Jonesboro for the past 4 years, moving here from Dickson, Tennessee. He was born on November 6, 1957 in Hernando, Mississippi, to Alvin and Rose McCann. He served in the United State Marine Corp for 12 years, and was honorably discharged due to a service-related injury. Anthony was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. As an avid Gun Collector, he was always working on adding to his collection. He enjoyed watching television, especially Lord of the Rings. His most pleasure was brought by being with and learning about the lives of his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia McCann; step-daughter, Angela Tidwell; sister, Lynn McCann; brother, Michael McCann and great granddaughter, Aurora McCann.
Survivors include sons, Tony McCann “Jr” and his wife Casey of Jonesboro; Joseph Kelley and wife Lacey of Kentucky; daughters, Misty Walker and husband, Shawn of Imboden, Arkansas; Shannon Iqnatowski and husband, John of North Carolina; Lisa Turner and husband, Keeaf of Dickson, Tennessee; brother, Greg McCann of Texas; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
