Funeral services will be Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 2 PM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Bryan officiating, along with Mickey Tyler Springer and Mike Dudley. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM and on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 12 PM until the time of service.
Iona “Onie” Jeanette Springer, age 86, of Dickson, TN passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
Onie was born April 18, 1937, in Hickman County, TN to the late Maurice Nolen and Mary Leathers Nolen. She was a homemaker most of her life and would bake cakes at Christmas for suppliers, when Billy had the service station. She loved to cook and bake and made the best “sock it to me” cake in Dickson. She always took care of her family, and everyone was always welcome to come eat at her table.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Billy Springer, one child, 4 siblings, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter; Karen Alexander (Larry) of Dickson, TN, Billy Don Springer Jr. (Beverly) of Dickson, TN, 4 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, along with her special cat; Drucilla.
