Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 4 PM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Beecham officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 2 PM until the time of service.
Ginger Hamm Propes, age 72, of Dickson, TN, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Skyline Medical Center, with her family by her side.
Ginger was born on June 15, 1951, in Waverly, TN to the late Christopher Van Hamm and Elizabeth Jackson Hamm.
For many years Ginger was a caregiver to the elderly. She gave such excellent care that many would ask for her personally. She was known for “looking fabulous” which is why she not only cared for their physical needs but did their personal as well. She often curled hair and painted nails. She believed the little things mattered.
The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy. She loved laughing and sharing memories at family reunions known for making an entrance and bringing the best fried chicken. During the spring, she looked forward to planting flowers and her morning coffee while watching the hummingbirds fly around the feeder she placed just for them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Sonny Propes, brother; Leo Hamm, sisters; Peggy Hafner, Thelma Murtha, and Audrey Hamm.
She is survived by her sons; Jeremy James (Sharon) of Knoxville, TN, Brian James of Dickson, TN, siblings; Sandra Hicks of McEwen, TN, Bo Hamm (Sandra), Karen Lackey (Philip) of White Bluff, TN, 9 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
