A funeral service for Chad Allen Garton will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Todd officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Chad, age 23 of Dickson, TN died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was born on April 12, 2000. He was beginning his senior year with UT Chattanooga, an honor roll student with plans to continue for a master’s degree. He was a hard worker, currently as a construction mechanic, constructing commercial buildings. Chad was artistic and creative with both his thoughts and his hands. He had the skills to figure out, fix, design, and draw. Chad also had a huge heart of gold. He was full of love, he was a giver, selfless. Unlike a lot of people, he enjoyed opportunities to help others. He loved his family, all of them, young and old.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Eleanor Garton, Ronnie “Cotton” Ingram, Willie Waldo Sr.; great grandparent, Frances Burns; cousin, Aireal Hammonds.
Chad is survived by his parents, Brandy Waldo and her husband Willie Waldo Jr., Michael and Diane Garton; his girlfriend, Abby Young; his siblings, Michael Ingram (Maranda), Joshua Garton, Connie Huff (David), Lance Callaway, Shanta Callaway, and Sarah Hammond (Tyler); grandparents, Connie and Carl Wood, and Theresa Waldo; cousins, Dava Farmer (Josh), Trent Rhodes, Madison Karlon, Levy Hammonds (Lauren), Kevin Waldo Jr., Lily Ann Waldo, Zeppelin Waldo, Isabella Waldo, Trey Waldo, Zan Olson, Alana Olson, Zenya Hansen, Grayson Hammonds, Thorin Hammonds; nieces and nephews, Malachi Ingram, Michaela Ingram, Makenna Ingram, Macy Ingram, Makenzie Ingram, Chloe Hooper, Harlee Ingram, Amari Vaughn, Kyrie Kelly, Trevor Kelly, Ellie Mendez; aunts and uncles, David Garton (Adriann), Steve Garton, Michelle Karlon (Andy), Jennifer Hammonds (Ivan), Kevin Waldo (Renae); and perhaps his best friend, Pancho.
Intelligent, hardworking, kind and creative….Chad will be missed, greatly missed.
